On the 150th anniversary of the Civil War, six communities partnered to overhaul a website commemorating General David Hunter’s raid through the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. We focused our efforts on telling the story of the general, the many Union and Confederate soldiers who fought in the battles and the civilians whose towns were devastated. An interactive map makes it easy for visitors to retrace Hunter’s Raid and understand its importance to the outcome of the war.
