So you think the Marines are tough? Yeah, I do too.
Apparently they also have a gentle and caring side. One 12-year old boy and his
family found out all about the honor and decency of the United States Marines.
This very moving story is bound to make you proud to be
an American. The image of the marine standing guard outside the boy’s hospital
room just might bring a tear to your eye.
With such a sad ending it feels a bit strange to include this in Good News Monday. However, the boy's wish was fulfilled and a group of ostensibly tough marines demonstrated extraordinary compassion and humanity. That is always good news.
