The county tourism department chose Mikula-Harris to develop a creative campaign to promote Mecklenburg County — not just the lake, but also the charming towns, outdoor recreation, historic sites, wineries and shopping.

The campaign is intriguing and truthful — there really are more public boat launches than stoplights in the county. That’s a perfect example of what makes Mecklenburg County an appealing getaway from big city life.

It’s understandable if the only thing you know about Bath County is that The Omni Homestead Resort is located there. It would also be a shame if that’s all you know. It has unspoiled natural beauty, outdoor recreation, charming towns and not a single stoplight in the entire county.
